About The Position

Bassett Healthcare Network in Central New York is seeking a Structural Interventional Cardiologist to join their staff. The faculty practice includes 15 cardiologists, 2 cardiac surgeons, and 18 advanced practice clinicians, with active coronary interventional, EP, structural, and open heart programs. This is a teaching program with two cardiology fellows annually. The role involves diagnostic catheterization, coronary interventions, and structural heart procedures such as TAVR, left atrial appendage closure, and patent foramen ovale closure, along with an outpatient clinical practice. Experience or interest in TEE, coronary CT, and PERT procedures is welcomed. Interventional call is currently one in three weeknights and one in four weekends. The position is within Bassett Healthcare Network, an integrated system serving an 8-county region. Leadership opportunities, including potential appointment as Division Chief, are available for qualified candidates.

Requirements

MD, DO, or MBBS degree.
Board Certified or Board Eligible in ABIM Cardiovascular Disease.
Completion of an accredited USA Cardiovascular Disease Fellowship.
New York State Licensure (or eligibility to obtain).
BLS Certification Required.
DEA required.

Responsibilities

Perform diagnostic catheterization, coronary interventions, and structural heart procedures including percutaneous aortic valve replacement (TAVR), left atrial appendage closure, and patent foramen ovale closure.
Conduct an outpatient clinical practice.
Participate in TEE, coronary CT, and PERT procedures.
Share interventional call duties (currently one in 3 weeknights, one in 4 weekends).
Teach cardiology fellows and potentially other trainees.
Engage in collaborative efforts with Columbia University Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons.
