About The Position

Our Heart and Vascular Institute is seeking a Hybrid General Cardiology Physician Assistant to join our comprehensive APP team. This well-established group offers a strong culture, dedicated APP leadership, and a collaborative environment where you’ll have the opportunity to practice at the top of your license. By joining our team, you’ll provide comprehensive care to a diverse inpatient population while being supported by a top-rated health care system, fully implemented EMR, and nearby admitting hospitals. Centra offers primary care and specialty services across Central and Southern Virginia—from Lynchburg to Danville, Farmville, Moneta, and Bedford. Requirements

  • National certification as a PA
  • Virginia licensure (or willing to obtain)
  • Active DEA
  • Embrace a team-oriented approach
  • Strong desire to make a difference in the community

Responsibilities

  • 4 10-hour shifts per week
  • 1:1 APP-to-MD/DO support
  • 50/50 split Inpatient and Outpatient responsibilities including: Daily rounding, Cardiology consults, Discharges, Clinic Days
  • 1–2 major holiday call shifts per year
  • 3–5 weekend call shifts per year
  • Extensive onboarding and orientation designed to support your success
  • Ongoing professional development through: Continuing education opportunities, Grand rounds, System-wide CME opportunities, Concurrent didactic cardiology curriculum designed to enhance your knowledge, clinical expertise, and competency in the evaluation and management of cardiovascular disease
  • Our goal is to provide you with the resources, education, and mentorship needed to practice at the top of your license while continuing to grow your cardiology expertise.
