About The Position

Cardiology Physician Assistant Patients with heart failure, arrhythmia, and coronary disease need a plan they can follow—not another handoff. This role puts you beside cardiologists to turn test results, symptoms, and risk into decisions the same day. Success is fewer avoidable returns to the hospital, tighter control of chronic disease, and a clinic that finishes what it starts.

Requirements

  • Accredited PA program graduate, current NCCPA certification, and an active state license or eligibility to obtain one before start.
  • Cardiology, hospital medicine, or closely related experience with acute coronary syndrome, heart failure, arrhythmias, and anticoagulation.
  • Proven ability to interpret ECGs and act on acute changes without waiting for a complete workup.
  • EHR documentation clear enough that another clinician can continue care without a verbal handoff.
  • Plain, steady communication with patients who are anxious, complex, or newly diagnosed.

Nice To Haves

  • Scope can deepen into device follow-up, procedures, and advanced heart failure as results prove readiness.

Responsibilities

  • Own a defined panel across clinic and inpatient care, completing assessments, orders, and notes in time for same-day treatment decisions.
  • Cut avoidable readmissions by delivering discharge and early follow-up plans for heart failure, post-procedure, and acute coronary patients, with medications reconciled before they leave.
  • Read ECGs, labs, and imaging reports with the collaborating cardiologist, escalate unstable findings immediately, and document why each treatment changed.
  • Keep scheduled sessions on time while still addressing symptoms, device follow-up, and the risks that actually change outcomes.
  • Close gaps in blood pressure, lipids, anticoagulation, and cardiac rehab so chronic patients hit evidence-based targets, not just visit counts.
  • Clear procedure prep, authorizations, and result follow-up with nursing, pharmacy, and scheduling so the care plan does not stall.
