About The Position

The University of Kansas Health System is expanding and seeking a BE/BC General Cardiologist Nurse Practitioner to join the dynamic team at our St. Francis Heart & Vascular Center in Topeka, Kansas. This is an opportunity to join a well-established and growing practice within a renowned academic health system. The position is a full-time, 1.0 FTE role with an inpatient/outpatient mix. The comprehensive cardiology group includes 8 Cardiologists, 9 APPs, and experienced support staff, along with CT surgeons and Cardiothoracic APPs. This role does not require research or teaching. Providers receive 4 hours of administrative time each week. The facility offers on-site procedure rooms and testing, including Nuclear Stress, Echo, Echo Stress, Exercising Stress testing, Vascular Sonography, Coumadin Clinic, Cardiac Rehab, Vein Clinic, and Device Clinic. The practice supports a Structural Heart Program with ASOIPFO, TAVR, and Watchman programs, with plans for Mitral and Triclip in 2026. Referrals come from Primary Care, Multiple Specialists, Hospitalists, and Outreach. The schedule involves M-F clinic and outreach, with a rotating inpatient weekend and holiday schedule. The daily patient load is approximately 2.5 patients per hour in clinic, with variable inpatient load. The practice utilizes Epic EMR and Ambience AI scribe technology to automate documentation and reduce administrative burden. Advanced imaging systems include CV PACS Fuji, EKG Epiphany, and 3mensio structural heart. The practice also serves 9 outreach locations. Both seasoned providers and new graduates are welcome, with mentorship opportunities available for new graduates.

Requirements

  • Experienced in Cardiology or ICU.
  • Able to work in a fast paced, ever evolving environment.
  • Able to work with a team.
  • Able to provide acute and chronic care for cardiology patients.
  • BE/BC General Cardiologist Nurse Practitioner.
