About The Position

Cardiology Nurse Practitioner Patients with heart failure, coronary disease, and arrhythmia need a clinician who closes the loop—not another handoff. In this role you own the visit, the plan, and the follow-through so therapy starts on time, risk is caught early, and people leave knowing exactly what to do next. Your work is how a cardiology service stays accessible, safe, and trusted.

Requirements

  • Active nurse practitioner license and national certification (AGACNP, AGPCNP, or FNP) with authority to practice in the state of hire.
  • Cardiology experience in heart failure, coronary disease, arrhythmia, or post-procedure care sufficient to manage a panel with limited direct supervision after orientation.
  • Proven ability to turn ECGs, labs, and imaging reports into same-day treatment changes.
  • Prescriptive authority and sound judgment with anticoagulants, heart-failure regimens, and multi-drug titration.
  • Charting and consult notes that a referring clinician and a patient can both act on.
  • Current BLS; ACLS where hospital or rapid-response coverage is in scope.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a defined cardiology panel so guideline-directed therapy is initiated, titrated, or clearly contraindicated within the visit window set with the team.
  • Complete new and return evaluations—history, exam, ECG and result interpretation, and a written plan—so referring clinicians receive an actionable consult without delay.
  • Cut avoidable decompensation by flagging high-risk patients and closing gaps in medications, monitoring, and follow-up before the next crisis.
  • Reconcile medications and secure a timed follow-up at every hospital-to-clinic transition touched, so no patient leaves without a next step.
  • Deliver procedure-level care only within granted privileges, with documentation and complication review that meet service standards.
  • Use teach-back until patients and families can state the diagnosis, warning signs, and the plan they will follow.
  • Move at least one service metric each quarter—access time, GDMT rates, or preventable returns—with a specific change owned.
