About The Position

This is an outpatient coverage position for a Cardiology Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA). The initial contract is for 3 months with the potential to extend. The role involves seeing an average of 15 patients per day (PPD) in a Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM schedule, with no weekends or call required. The patient population includes adults and geriatrics. The facility uses EPIC for its EMR system, and credentialing typically takes 21 days. This position is open to fill a long-term permanent search.

Requirements

  • Active Georgia licensure
  • Board certification
  • AHA BLS certification
  • Minimum 1-year Cardiology experience or equivalent
  • Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) degree focused on an NP specialty (e.g., family practice, adult-gerontology, pediatrics) or Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies (MPAS) degree from an accredited program
  • Active and unencumbered advanced practice registered nurse (APRN) license in Georgia
  • National certification as an NP in a relevant specialty area by a recognized certifying body (e.g., American Academy of Nurse Practitioners [AANP])
  • Active and unencumbered physician assistant (PA) license in Georgia
  • National certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA)
  • At least one year of experience in a clinical setting relevant to their specialty

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive patient assessments to diagnose and treat a variety of medical conditions
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans
  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests
  • Prescribe medications and manage chronic conditions
  • Provide patient education and counseling on healthy lifestyle choices
  • Perform procedures as permitted by state regulations and APP specialty
  • Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare providers to ensure coordinated care
  • Document patient care accurately and thoroughly
