About The Position

The Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioner for the Echocardiography (Echo) Lab is responsible for acting as first assist to the attending physicians in the medical management of the patients in the echo lab and while performing echo lab procedures in other clinical areas. This position works closely with the physician and nursing staff in developing and coordinating a plan of care designed to meet the physical, psychological and social needs of patients and their families. Strong interpersonal, organizational and communication skills are required. Knowledge of current literature and a commitment to continued learning are also required. Fast-paced, high-volume cardiac service.

Requirements

  • Master's Degree Physician Assistant required
  • Physician Assistant [State License] - Generic - HR Only required
  • Skilled in taking medical histories to assess medical condition and interpret findings.
  • Ability to maintain quality control standards.
  • Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations.
  • Ability to interpret, adapt and apply guidelines and procedures.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and establish/maintain effective working relationships with patients, medical staff and the public.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience as a licensed Physician Assistant preferred
  • Experience in Echo and Echo procedures strongly preferred
