About The Position

The Cardiac Ultrasound Technologist 2 at Sole Mia UHealth is a full-time position responsible for performing cardiac ultrasound procedures. This role involves searching for abnormalities in blood flow, heart rhythm, oxygen saturation, and heart appearance. The technologist will position patients, explain procedures, perform quality control, evaluate ultrasounds for diagnostic quality, and prepare medical supplies using aseptic techniques. Additionally, they will develop ultrasound film, match it with paperwork, assist with data compilation, and provide training to new technologists. The position requires adherence to university and unit policies and procedures, and safeguarding of university assets. This list of duties is not exhaustive and may be expanded as needed.

Requirements

Associate degree in relevant field
Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) or Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS).
Minimum 3 years of relevant experience
Skill in completing assignments accurately and with attention to detail.
Ability to analyze, organize and prioritize work under pressure while meeting deadlines.
Ability to process and handle confidential information with discretion.
Ability to work evenings, nights, and weekends as necessary.

Ability to work independently and/or in a collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

Searches for abnormalities in blood flow sounds, heart rhythm, oxygen saturation, and the appearance of the heart.
Positions patients and explains procedures.
Performs quality control functions.
Evaluates ultrasounds for diagnostic quality.
Prepares and sets up medical supplies using aseptic techniques.
Develops ultrasound film and matches it with the appropriate paperwork for interpretation.
Assists with the maintenance and compilation of statistical data.
Provides training to new and student cardiac ultrasound technologists.
Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.
