About The Position

The Cardiac Telemetry Technician (CTT) works under the supervision and direction of a registered nurse. The CTT continuously observes ECG tracings on monitored patients, identifies and documents rhythms and arrhythmias, communicates changes promptly to the registered nurse, and activates the Rapid Response Team and/or contacts the physician when needed. The role also enters patient information into the arrhythmia computer system, manages telemetry monitoring status and alarm settings, and records rhythm strips and other data according to policy. The technician monitors alarm activity and trends, checks that monitoring leads are positioned for an optimal signal, and troubleshoots central station equipment, monitors, transmitters, and patient cables. The CTT performs equipment checks, ensures equipment is maintained, arranges repairs as needed, and maintains equipment logs. This is a full-time day-shift position in the Telemetry Hub.
