About The Position

The New Mexico Heart Institute is seeking a Cardiac Surgeon to join a four-surgeon team at their Heart Hospital and University of New Mexico Hospital in Albuquerque, NM. This is a full-time position within a multi-specialty practice, primarily operating out of the Heart Hospital. The role involves both inpatient and outpatient care, working alongside a team of 39 physicians and 23 Advanced Practice Providers (APPs). The facility is equipped with onsite testing (ECHO, Vascular, Nuclear, CT, X-ray, Lab), a Da Vinci XI robotic system, and a Hybrid Room. The work schedule is Monday-Friday, 7 am-5 pm, with a daily patient load of 14-16. The position includes rotating call coverage every fourth quarter (Q4). The practice utilizes Epic EMR and Ambience AI scribe technology to streamline documentation and reduce administrative tasks, aiming to improve work-life balance and efficiency.

Requirements

• ABTS certified in cardiac surgery
• Experienced and graduating cardiac surgeons are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Perform cardiac surgery as part of a four-surgeon team.

• Manage a daily patient load of 14-16 patients.
