About The Position

We’re seeking a compassionate, experienced Cardiac Stress Technician and Medical Assistant to join our imaging center. You will be responsible for supporting providers and patients through a combination of clinical medical assistant duties and cardiac diagnostic testing. This role performs cardiac stress testing, assists with patient care, administers IVs for diagnostic procedures, and ensures efficient clinic operations while delivering exceptional patient service.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Medical Assistant certification required.
  • Demonstrated IV insertion and management experience required.
  • Current BLS certification required.
  • Strong knowledge of cardiac monitoring, ECG placement, and patient care procedures.
  • Proficiency with EMR systems and standard clinical equipment.

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum one (1) year of experience in cardiology, diagnostic testing, or clinical setting preferred.
  • Experience performing cardiac stress testing strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare patients for exercise and pharmacologic stress testing.
  • Perform and monitor cardiac stress tests under physician supervision.
  • Obtain and document patient vital signs, medical history, and test results.
  • Place ECG leads and ensure accurate cardiac monitoring during testing.
  • Initiate and maintain intravenous (IV) access for stress testing and diagnostic procedures.
  • Recognize and respond appropriately to patient symptoms or adverse reactions during testing.
  • Monitor patients before, during, and after imaging procedures.
  • Assist technologists with patient positioning and workflow management.
  • Maintain testing equipment and ensure proper calibration and functionality.
  • Document procedures and results accurately into Athena EMR.
  • Room patients and prepare them for provider visits.
  • Obtain and record vital signs, medical histories, and medication lists.
  • Assist providers with examinations and in-office procedures.
  • Perform phlebotomy, specimen collection, and other clinical support tasks as needed.
  • Administer medications and injections in accordance with applicable regulations and physician orders.
  • Coordinate patient scheduling, referrals, and follow-up care.
  • Maintain exam rooms, clinical supplies, and infection control standards.
  • Provide patient education regarding testing, procedures, and treatment plans.
