About The Position

Riverview Regional Medical Center is seeking a Telemetry/Cardiac Stepdown Registered Nurse to care for patients recovering from cardiac procedures, surgeries, heart attacks, and other cardiac conditions. This role provides an intermediate level of care between the ICU and the general medical-surgical floor, including close monitoring, medication administration, patient education, and care coordination.

This is a full-time day-shift position in the DOU department, with hours from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. A shift differential of $2 to $6 is available. A $15,000 sign-on bonus is available for qualified candidates; eligibility and payout terms apply, with details discussed during the interview process.

Requirements

• Current valid State Registered Nurse License.
• Current BLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintained as current.
• Minimum of one year of experience as a staff RN in an acute care hospital; critical care experience preferred.

Nice To Haves

• Completion of a Critical Care Course preferred.
• Current ACLS (AHA) certificate within 30 days of hire and maintained as current preferred.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
• RN-C within two years of hire preferred.

Responsibilities

• Monitor patients' cardiac status, vital signs, and telemetry data to detect changes or abnormalities.
• Administer prescribed medications, including intravenous drugs, cardiac medications, and pain management medications.
• Assess patients' cardiac status through physical assessments, review of medical histories, and evaluation of symptoms.
• Educate patients and families about cardiac conditions, treatment plans, medications, lifestyle modifications, and self-care practices.
• Respond promptly to cardiac emergencies, including arrhythmias, cardiac arrests, and respiratory distress; implement emergency procedures, perform CPR, and assist with defibrillation and other life-saving measures.
