About The Position

Corewell Health William Beaumont University Hospital is seeking a Cardiac Sonographer to perform diagnostic cardiac ultrasound examinations. This role involves utilizing two-dimensional imaging, spectral and color flow Doppler, m-mode, transesophageal, exercise and pharmacologic echocardiograms, and saline and left ventricular opacification studies on adult patients. The position also includes instructing medical personnel on the technical performance, clinical application, and cardiac pathology related to cardiac ultrasound. There is potential to act as a mentor or preceptor for other ultrasonographers and students. This is a casual, part-time position with day shifts.

Requirements

• Associate’s degree or equivalent.
• Graduate of Diagnostic Ultrasound program or equivalent.
• Registered by American Registry Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) or Registry eligible.
• Must obtain at least one (ABD or OB/GYN) within 1 year from hire if unregistered.
• Additional registry must be obtained within two years from date of hire if unregistered.
• If registered at hire, an additional registry must be obtained within 1 year from hire.
• RDCS or CCI status is required by department (no exemption accepted, must pass both parts of exam).
• CRT-Vascular Tech-ARDMS- within 1 year from hire for Vascular Department.
• Basic Life Support Certification for Healthcare Providers at hire through the American Heart Association or Red Cross.

Nice To Haves

• This is a Cardiac Ultrasound position; only RDCS, ACS, or RCS credential is required.

Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic cardiac ultrasound examinations including two-dimensional imaging, spectral and color flow Doppler, m-mode, transesophageal, exercise and pharmacologic echocardiograms, and saline and left ventricular opacification studies on adult patients.
• Instruct medical personnel in the technical performance, clinical application, and cardiac pathology as it pertains to cardiac ultrasound.
• May act as a mentor/preceptor for other Ultrasonographers and/or students.
