About The Position

Scripps Mercy Hospital San Diego is seeking a Cardiac Sonographer to join their team. This is a full-time position (80 hours per pay period) with 10-hour varied shifts, including alternating weekends, morning and late shifts, and participation in the on-call rotation. The role involves split shifts between Mercy Chula Vista and Mercy San Diego. Scripps Mercy Hospital San Diego is recognized for its specialty services, including a Level I Trauma Center, outpatient physical rehabilitation, minimally invasive robotic surgery, and a childbirth unit. The hospital is also ranked by U.S. News & World Report for its orthopedic specialty care and several programs, including heart attack, heart failure, COPD, prostate cancer surgery, and stroke.

Requirements

  • Associate of Science Degree Certification in Ultrasound from an accredited school, OR Successful completion of a formal educational program in an AMA approved school of ultrasound with a minimum of 500 hours of clinical in the specialty required, OR Registered in the specialty by ARDMS or CCI with at least 1 year of full-time experience.
  • ARDMS or CCI certification.
  • RDCS or RCS certification.
  • BLS from the American Heart Association.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Pediatric and adult experience.
  • IV placement experience.
  • 1-2 years’ experience.

Responsibilities

  • Perform diagnostic cardiac ultrasound procedures.
  • Provide patient-centered healthcare.
  • Participate in on-call rotation.
