About The Position

The Cardiac Sonographer performs cardiac sonography in the assigned specialty. The schedule is 8:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. and varies. Candidates must live at least 50 miles from the facility; local candidates within 50 miles are not accepted. Holiday coverage is required: the sonographer must work two of the three major holidays (Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, and New Year's Day) and one minor holiday (the Friday after Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, or New Year's Eve).

Requirements

• At least 2 years of experience within the specialty.
• AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• An appropriate echocardiography credential: Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) from the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS); Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) or Registered Congenital Cardiac Sonographer (RCCS) from Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI); Canadian Registered Cardiac Sonographer (CRCS) from Sonography Canada; or Advanced Cardiac Sonographer (ACS) from CCI.
• Must work two of the three major holidays: Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, and New Year's Day.
• Must work one minor holiday: the Friday after Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, or New Year's Eve.
• Must be located more than 50 miles from the facility; local candidates within 50 miles are not accepted.
