About The Position

Responsible for performing echocardiography procedures of diagnostic value to be interpreted by a cardiologist and/or another referring physician.

Requirements

• Graduate of AMA approved school
• CPR Certified
• Certification in echocardiography or Certification eligible
• Minimum of six months preferred certified Echocardiography experience
• Ability to deal with stressful situations (e.g. trauma)
• Must be able to lift, push, reach, bend, stoop, and walk in order to care for patients.

Responsibilities

• Performs all inpatient and outpatient two‐dimensional, m‐mode, color flow and doppler echocardiograms, stress echocardiography, contrast studies, and transesophageal echocardiography.
• Achieves and maintains working knowledge and understanding of electrocardiograms, including the performance of blood pressures to aid in the performance of Resting and Stress Echocardiography.
• Achieves and maintains working knowledge and understanding of cardiac anatomy and physiology and procedure protocols and contrast imaging utilization.
• Achieves and maintains working knowledge of ultrasound equipment.
• Assists physician in performing sterile procedures as necessary.
• Maintains adequate documentation and file systems of all studies performed.
• Performs minor equipment repairs and cleaning (e.g. calibrations, filters, VCR, disc, etc.).
• Informs supervisor of problems within the department with regard to equipment function.
• Cleaning and restocking rooms daily.
• Must be able to transport portable equipment to operating room suite, emergency room, nursing units, and morgue.
