Cardiac Sonographer
About The Position
Riverside Methodist Hospital is hiring a full-time, day shift Cardiac Sonographer (8-hour or 10-hour shifts) with minimal weekend shifts and call. The Cardiac Sonographer is responsible for performing diagnostic tests, such as echocardiograms, vascular studies, and follow-up paperwork for each procedure. Looking for candidates who are caring and courteous when dealing with patients and their families, coworkers, physicians, and guests of the hospital. As a High Reliability Organization (HRO), responsibilities require focus on safety, quality and efficiency in performing job duties. Requirements
- High School or GED (Required)
- BLS - Basic Life Support - American Heart Association
- Minimum in a two-year allied, patient related healthcare program (i.e., sonography, radiology, respiratory therapy, occupational therapy, or RN)
- Either registered (RDCS or RCS) or registry eligible (RDCS or RCS) with registry obtained within 12 months of hire.
- BLS Certification.
Responsibilities
- Performs ultrasound imaging.
- Prepares required reports.
- Maintains files.
- Maintains equipment. Provides needed statistics.
- Handles telephone to schedule and provide information.
- Reviews results of echocardiogram with physicians and performs quality assurance activities.
