The Cardiac Sonographer/Senior Echo Tech position at The Brigham and Women's Hospital, Inc. (BWH) is a per diem role within the Non-Invasive Cardiology / Echo Lab. This role supports the Chief Tech and Medical Director in the administration and technical performance of the Echo Division. Responsibilities include assisting in the development of efficient work plans for echocardiography procedures, teaching and orienting fellows and new employees, and interpreting test results, especially abnormal ones. In the absence of the Chief Tech, this position acts as supervisor. The role involves performing high-quality echocardiographic examinations, ensuring proper documentation, discussing findings with physicians, training other technicians, performing quality control on equipment, and maintaining a clean and orderly testing environment. The position also requires the ability to mobilize heavy equipment, occasionally lift patients, and assist with patient care needs. There is an on-call responsibility associated with this role.
