About The Position

The Cardiac Sonographer is responsible for performing diagnostic tests, such as echocardiograms and stress echos, while also completing follow-up paperwork for each procedure. Both inpatient and outpatient setting with weekend rotation and call. Displays caring, courteous behavior in dealing with patients and their families, coworkers, physicians, and guests of the hospital. As a High Reliability Organization (HRO), responsibilities require focus on safety, quality and efficiency in performing job duties. Requirements

  • High School or GED (Required)
  • BLS - Basic Life Support - American Heart Association
  • Minimum in a two year allied, patient related healthcare program (i.e., sonography, radiology, respiratory therapy, occupational therapy, or RN)
  • Either registered (RDCS or RCS) or registry eligible (RDCS or RCS) with registry obtained within 12 months of hire.
  • BLS Certification.

Responsibilities

  • Performs ultrasound imaging.
  • Prepares required reports.
  • Maintains files.
  • Maintains equipment.
  • Provides needed statistics.
  • Handles telephone to schedule and provide information.
  • Reviews results of echocardiogram with physicians and performs quality assurance activities.
