About The Position

Tampa General Hospital’s Cardiovascular Center has six cardiac catheterization laboratories, including two EP labs and seven interventional radiology suites. TGH was most recently awarded full Atrial Fibrillation with Electrophysiology Services Accreditation status from SCPC for its expertise and commitment to quality patient care. This role performs cardiac related procedures/tests under the supervision of the Non Invasive Cardiology Manager and according to established policies and procedures for various age groups of patients. The Cardiac Sonographer 2 assists physicians with procedures such as stress tests, tilt tables, and TEEs when required, and independently performs tests including echocardiograms and EKGs. The position involves documenting appropriate images and values during procedures and assuring patient rights. The role is responsible for performing job duties in accordance with the mission, vision, and values of Tampa General Hospital.

Requirements

Completion of a formal 2-year accredited program in Echocardiography (Echo) or equivalent experience with the ARDMS/CCI registry.
ARDMS/CCI registered (adult or pediatric).
Current BLS and ACLS required.
Minimum Two years' experience in non-invasive cardiology lab.

Responsibilities

Performs cardiac related procedures/tests under supervision.
Assists physician performing procedures such as stress tests, tilt tables, and TEEs.
Performs echocardiograms and EKGs independently.
Documents appropriate images and values during the procedure.
Assures patient rights.
