Cardiac Rehab Trainer
About The Position
Jefferson Hospital has a well-equipped emergency room, which utilizes hospital staff and contract physicians. Support services are provided for both inpatients and outpatients and the scope of service is consistent with the current mission of the hospital to provide quality community-based primary health care to Jefferson and surrounding counties. We’re seeking a Cardiac Rehab Trainer to join our team at Jefferson Hospital. Cardiac Rehab Trainers are responsible for performing patient treatments, patient documentation, and statistics. Cardiac Rehab Trainers communicate updates to ordering physicians and educate patients and families on treatment regimens.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited Exercise Science program.
- In pursuit of, or has a degree in Exercise Physiology.
- Current BLS Certification.
Responsibilities
- Assesses current physical activity level and develops a safe and appropriate physical activity regimen.
- Conducts a physical examination of the patient’s cardiovascular system by measuring heart rates, blood pressure, pulses, and checking for edemas.
- Develops and implements individualized cardiovascular endurance exercise treatments plans including modes, intensity, duration, frequency, and progression.
- Develops an Individual Treatment Plan (ITP) for each patient under the direct supervision of the Cardiac Rehab RN.
