About The Position

This role involves providing cardiac rehabilitation services, including assessments and patient education. The nurse will occasionally travel to other FirstHealth Cardiac Rehab locations (Pinehurst, Rockingham, Sanford, and Troy) to assist with staffing needs. A key aspect of the role is managing patients in a group setting, accurately collecting exercise data, and modifying exercise intensity for safety while ensuring the patient's individual needs are met. The position also includes completing inpatient cardiac rehab consultations and new patient assessments for outpatient cardiac rehab.

Requirements

• Currently licensed to practice nursing in N.C.
• ACLS required
• Telemetry knowledge and interpretation required

Nice To Haves

• Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in nursing preferred.
• At least two years clinical experience with the cardiac patient preferred.
• At least two years’ experience in patient education preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assesses the patient’s condition/status and prioritizes individualized needs.
• Identifies clinical significance of data.
• Provides emergency care when indicated.
• Functions in a group setting with varied patient functional abilities.
• Accurately collects patient's exercise data and modifies exercise levels/intensities based on the individualized exercise prescription to maintain patient safety.
• Effectively performs unit-based competencies.
• Works inpatient 1-2 times per week to complete cardiac rehab consultations for ambulation & education.
• Completes outpatient Cardiac Rehab new patient assessments.
