Visit us online at: https://www.nwths.com/careers Position: Program Coordinator - RN POSITION SUMMARY: The Cardiac Rehab Coordinator assures provision of care to an assigned patient population in a professional manner utilizing principles of continuous Quality Improvement. In collaboration with other health team members, provides and directs the activities of the Cardiac Rehab program in accordance with accreditation requirements and established hospital and departmental policies and procedures. Assists with tracking progress of the program and identifying areas that require improvements.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited NLN-approved RN program
  • Current license to practice nursing in the state of Texas.
  • Possess current BLS certification upon hire and maintain certification throughout employment
  • Minimum of one year full time or three years part time experience in acute care specialty nursing
  • Must successfully pass any pre-employment assessment(s) required by the facility
  • Ability to read and write in English
  • Ability to communicate with patients, families, staff, physicians, support agencies, vendors, and others.
  • Ability to remain calm during stressful situations
  • Ability to respond to pages, telephones, and other auditory stimulation
  • Ability to evaluate and interpret information, including financial data, and make independent decisions
  • Ability to work in computer literate environment
  • Bending, lifting (minimum of 25 pounds), grasping, fine hand/eye coordination, pushing, pulling, squatting, and prolonged standing and/or sitting
  • Quantitative/mathematical ability (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, standard/metric requirements)

Nice To Haves

  • One to three years supervisory experience and Cardiac Rehab experience preferred
  • Minimum of one year full time or three years part-time experience in an acute care respiratory care position; One to three years supervisory experience and Cardiac Rehab experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Develops, implements, and evaluates an age and condition-appropriate plan of care/therapy utilizing a collaborative process, clinical skills, and patient education.
  • Provides an environment conducive to safety for patients, families and employees.
  • Participates in and supports a process to measure, assess and improve performance in assigned area of responsibility.
  • Maintains regulatory compliances as are related to Joint Commission, CMS, TDHHS and specific accreditations as required.
