About The Position

Our outpatient cardiology team is seeking a skilled, motivated Registered Nurse to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care in a collaborative, fast-paced office setting. This is a full-time opportunity where your cardiac expertise truly shines—supporting providers, educating patients, and making a real impact every day. The Registered Nurse practices at a competent level using the nursing process to deliver safe, evidence-based care. This role upholds professional nursing standards including assessment, care planning, implementation, coordination of care, patient education, evaluation, ethics, collaboration, quality improvement, and patient-centered communication across all clinical activities.

Requirements

  • RN diploma, Associate’s degree, or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing
  • Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse license in the Commonwealth of Virginia
  • Current BLS certification required
  • Prior cardiac nursing experience strongly recommended
  • Comfortable using electronic medical records (EMR)
  • Strong organizational, critical thinking, and analytical skills
  • Excellent communication, teamwork, and patient care skills
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with providers and clinical staff

Nice To Haves

  • ACLS preferred

Responsibilities

  • Provide both in-person and phone-based clinical care, supporting patients throughout their cardiac journey.
  • Perform blood pressure follow-up visits.
  • Conduct medication reviews and education.
  • Perform and review EKGs.
  • Assess and support walk-in symptomatic patients.
  • Conduct incoming and outgoing clinical calls for triage and phone assessments.
  • Review cardiac testing and lab results and communicate treatment plans per provider direction.
  • Document care accurately in the electronic medical record (EMR).
  • Provide patient education and reinforce care plans.
  • Perform cardiac stress testing.
  • Perform heart monitor application.
  • Provide Coumadin clinic support.
  • Assist ultrasound technicians with bubble studies and enhanced echocardiography imaging agents.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support clinic operations and patient care.
