About The Position
With a commitment to patient- and family-centered care, provides continuous surveillance of telemetry patients in ways that values the uniqueness of each individual and addresses the physical, psychological, emotional, and social needs of the diversity of patients served by Jefferson Health. Assures proper procedures regarding telemetry monitoring are followed. Follows established policies and procedures for documenting and reporting patient information. Works collaboratively with the healthcare team to provide quality patient care and a safe environment. Articulates the job's main responsibilities. Requirements
- High School Diploma/GED
- Cultural Awareness Knowledge of people with diverse backgrounds and the ability to convey respect and connect effectively.
- Health Information Documentation - Knowledge of the relevance of health information and appropriate documentation methods, ability to record medical histories, symptoms, vital signs, medications, diagnoses, treatment plans, procedures, tests, and medical results in written or electronic form. - Patient Safety - Knowledge of the risks faced by patients in a healthcare environment, and the ability to take steps to reduce these risks. (THNU0300)
- Life Support - Knowledge of the process taken to restore and maintain essential physiological functions, and the ability to apply these processes in a patient care situation. (THNU0320)
- Accuracy and Attention to Detail - Understanding of the necessity and value of accuracy and attention to detail, ability to process information with high levels of accuracy. (I0960)
- BLS - Basic Life Support AHA - American Heart Association
Nice To Haves
- 1 year Previous telemetry and/or patient care experience preferred
- TC - Telemetry Certified - National Telemetry Association
Responsibilities
- Continuously and attentively monitors patients’ cardiac rhythms and pulse oximetry, accurately interpreting and communicating baseline variations to Registered Nurse.
- Collects data and documents interpreted rhythms and significant events during shift.
- Completes required reporting.
- Maintains equipment and assists with application, return, and troubleshooting, escalating according to established procedures if necessary.
