About The Position

The Cardiac Monitor Tech - Acute Care - Days position provides continuous observation, interpretation, documentation, and communication of pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patient cardiac rhythms. This role prepares and maintains telemetry records and maintains a functioning telemetry system. The position requires working three 12-hour shifts, 7a - 7:30p, including every third weekend. Cardiac Monitor Technicians work all three shifts, weekends, and holidays. Individual shift rotation and schedules will be established with your specific Nurse Manager/Practice Manager. Schedules, including requirements of shift rotations and hours of work may be adjusted as necessary to meet staffing requirements or as is in the best interest of the work unit. Age Specific groups served: As appropriate based on unit assignment.

Requirements

• One (1) year Nursing Assistant, Medical Assistant experience or a combination of science/healthcare education and/or patient-care related work experience that included arrhythmia interpretation.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• AHA BLS HCP Certification or equivalent preferred for continued employment.

Nice To Haves

• Academic health care experience.
• Completion of Emergency Medical Technician, Certified Nursing Assistant or Medical Assistant Program.

Responsibilities

• Provides continuous observation, interpretation, documentation, and communication of pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patient cardiac rhythms.
• Prepares and maintains telemetry records.
• Maintains a functioning telemetry system.
• Functions under the direction of an RN in interpreting, documenting, and reporting cardiac rhythms.
• Maintains and problem-solves the monitoring system in accordance with hospital, nursing, and unit policy/procedure.

Benefits

• Compensation Grade Range: $17.25 - $24.12
