About The Position

The Cath Lab Special Procedure Technologist II assists credentialed providers with diagnostic, interventional, and therapeutic procedures in cardiac and vascular laboratory environments. The role performs scrub, monitor/recorder, and X-ray technologist duties while supporting patient safety, radiation compliance, sterile procedures, and cardiovascular monitoring.

Requirements

Minimum 12 continuous months of cardiac cath lab, EP, Neuro IR, and/or special procedures experience within the last three (3) years.

Responsibilities

Serve as scrub, monitor/recorder, and X-ray technologist during CVL procedures.
Prepare and position patients and assist with invasive cardiac and vascular procedures.
Operate and troubleshoot hemodynamic, imaging, and monitoring equipment.
Recognize cardiac arrhythmias and hemodynamic waveforms and promptly alert the care team.
Maintain sterile fields using proper aseptic technique.
Support procedures involving IVUS, atherectomy devices, pacemakers/ICDs, and coronary interventions.
Perform radiation safety and quality-assurance activities.
Assist with sheath removal, hemostasis, patient transport, and post-procedure care.
Perform point-of-care testing including ACT, glucose, oxygen saturation, and ABGs.
Perform BLS/advanced life support and defibrillation when required.
Maintain supplies, equipment, and clean work areas.
Participate in on-call coverage and respond onsite within 30 minutes when called.
