Cardiac Electrophysiologist
About The Position
Provide locum tenens electrophysiology services in inpatient and outpatient settings in Duluth, Minnesota. The coverage is clinical only and is supplemental, with coverage scheduled for Nov 30–Dec 4 and Dec 21–24. The broader coverage period is listed as ASAP through ongoing, with a schedule of Monday through Friday for two weeks per month. Travel, lodging, and malpractice insurance are covered by the agency. The role includes electrophysiology services such as pacemaker and ICD implantation, consultations for cardiac arrhythmia patients, and rounding on hospitalized patients as needed. The physician will collaborate with the healthcare team and document patient encounters in Epic. Hospital privileges are required; temporary privileges are unavailable. The facility has a variable average daily patient volume and provides support from 3 RNs, 1 MA, 3 APPs, and 2 office staff.
Requirements
- Board certified.
- Minnesota license.
- BLS certification.
- ACLS certification.
- Fellowship required.
- Hospital privileges required; temporary privileges are not available.
Responsibilities
- Provide electrophysiology coverage, including pacemaker and ICD implantation during the specified dates.
- Manage inpatient and outpatient consultations for cardiac arrhythmia patients.
- Round on hospitalized patients as needed.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure continuity of care.
- Accurately document patient encounters in the Epic EMR.
