About The Position

The Atria Health Institute is a membership-based primary and specialty health care practice focused on prevention and longevity. They bring together a multidisciplinary team of physicians to provide proactive, preventive, and precision-based care. All care, including primary care, advanced screening and diagnostics, urgent care, specialty care, home visits, and imaging, is included in members’ annual fee. Their mission is to make healthspan and lifespan equal for all by translating science into medicine in real-time, while bringing humanity back into health care. After opening their flagship Institute in New York in 2022 and expanding to South Florida in 2024, they are launching their Los Angeles Institute in late spring 2026. This role is an opportunity to join the founding LA team, responsible for developing clinical operations in their largest clinic yet, and maintaining a strong, inclusive organizational culture and performance standards. This hands-on role involves collaboration with clinical, finance, technology, care coordination, hospitality, content, events, and experience teams to drive excellence.

Requirements

• Active RDCS (Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer) through ARDMS or RCS (Registered Cardiac Sonographer) through CCI.
• Graduate of an accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography or Cardiovascular Technology program.
• A minimum of 5+ years of clinical cardiac experience.
• Proven experience in a "Charge," "Lead," or Senior capacity is highly preferred.
• Current BLS/CPR certification required.
• Must maintain the required CMEs to keep credentials active and in good standing with accrediting bodies.
• Recognized as a technical expert in cardiac anatomy, hemodynamics, and pathology.
• Exceptional ability to manage department resources, staffing levels, and supply inventory.
• Strong verbal and written skills necessary for detailed technical reporting and professional collaboration with the Chief of Cardiology.
• Ability to remain calm and precise during emergency "Code Blue" situations or in the ICU/OR environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform high-quality 2D, 3D, and M-mode echocardiograms, including Stress Echo and Transesophageal (TEE) assistance, ensuring precise measurements of cardiac chambers, valves, and hemodynamics.
• Execute and enforce specialized cardiac ultrasound protocols (Adult, Pediatric, and Stress) as defined by the Medical Director, ensuring compliance with ICAEL (IAC) standards.
• Conduct daily quality checks of echocardiograms, reviewing images for technical accuracy and diagnostic clarity before submission to the Cardiologist.
• Lead data collection, case study selection, and documentation required for Intersocietal Accreditation Commission (IAC) renewals and site inspections.
• Serve as the primary preceptor for staff echo techs, providing real-time feedback on scanning techniques, conducting annual competency assessments, and leading "difficult case" reviews.
• Coordinate the daily cardiac schedule, prioritizing inpatient "stat" echoes and outpatient appointments to optimize laboratory throughput and reduce patient wait times.
• Manage the echo technologist team, including shift scheduling, timecard approval, and coordinating on-call rotations for weekends and holidays.
• Monitor the performance of all ultrasound systems and TEE probes, oversee high-level disinfection (HLD) compliance, and coordinate with vendors for preventative maintenance and repairs.
• Act as the primary technical point of contact for Cardiologists, communicating critical findings immediately to the reading physician.
• Explain complex cardiac procedures to patients and families, providing age-appropriate care from pediatric to geriatric populations.
• Master the use of EMR (e.g., Epic/Athena), RIS, and Cardiology-specific PACS (e.g., Lumedx, Syngo) for seamless reporting and image archiving.
