We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Cardiac Diagnostic Technician to join our growing team. In this role, you will perform both echocardiograms and electrocardiograms (EKGs) for patients in skilled nursing and long-term care facilities. This position plays a vital role in supporting the diagnosis, monitoring, and management of cardiovascular conditions in a geriatric population.

Requirements

  • Prior experience performing echocardiograms and/or EKGs required
  • Experience in skilled nursing or long-term care settings preferred
  • Strong technical, diagnostic, and patient care skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Comfortable working with the geriatric population
  • Reliable transportation and ability to travel as needed

Nice To Haves

  • Associate or Bachelor's degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography or related field preferred
  • RDCS (Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer) certification or equivalent preferred for Echo studies
  • EKG Technician certification (CET or equivalent) preferred

Responsibilities

  • Perform transthoracic echocardiograms (TTE) in accordance with established protocols
  • Obtain high-quality diagnostic images for cardiology interpretation
  • Perform EKGs, rhythm strips, and other non-invasive cardiac diagnostic tests
  • Prepare patients for procedures and ensure comfort and safety throughout testing
  • Properly place electrodes and operate EKG equipment according to established standards
  • Identify and document anatomical and functional cardiac findings
  • Monitor patients during testing and report abnormal findings to the supervising clinician
  • Accurately document procedures and submit studies through designated systems
  • Maintain, clean, and troubleshoot diagnostic equipment as needed
  • Adhere to HIPAA, infection control, and facility policies
  • Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, and nursing staff
  • Travel to skilled nursing and long-term care facilities as assigned
