About The Position

The Cardiac Device Specialist (CDS) provides advanced technical and clinical support within Cardiac Electrophysiology and Rhythm Management. The CDS functions as a specialized cardiac rhythm diagnostics professional responsible for independent analysis, interpretation, programming, and management of Cardiac Implantable Electronic Devices (CIEDs) across multiple manufacturer platforms. This role requires advanced knowledge of electrophysiology, cardiac anatomy and physiology, arrhythmia recognition, and device diagnostics. The CDS performs complex in-office and remote device evaluations, interprets intracardiac electrograms (IEGMs), assesses arrhythmia burden, identifies device malfunctions, and applies protocol-driven clinical judgment to determine appropriate escalation and provider notification. The CDS directly supports revenue-generating services, ensures CMS-compliant documentation and billing integrity, and plays a critical role in identifying potentially life-threatening arrhythmias and device-related complications. Management of CIEDs is performed under the direction of the Device RN Manager and/or Electrophysiology Provider.
