About The Position

The Cardiac Cath Lab Technologist performs functions of a Cardiac Catheterization Tech I and assists the Cardiologist during diagnostic cardiac catheterization. This role requires additional knowledge and skills to assist during complex coronary interventional procedures utilizing adjunctive therapies in the treatment of coronary artery disease. Responsibilities include assisting in the maintenance of cath lab inventory, assisting with training and orientation of new staff, and assisting with the development, review, and implementation of policies and procedures. The technologist participates in Quality Assessment and Improvement, may be required to work flexible hours and overtime during peak periods, and participates in the on-call roster. Other duties are assigned by the Cath Lab Coordinator or Heart Program Director.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an AMA accredited Radiologic Technology program or equivalent
  • Two years experience as Cardiac Catheterization Tech I or equivalent
  • AART registered or registry eligible
  • Wisconsin State Radiology Technologist License
  • Cardiovascular Technologist registered or registry eligible
  • BLS Certification
  • Strong analytical/interpretive skills
  • Strong interpersonal/communication skills
  • High level of attention to detail in view of highly sophisticated equipment
  • Knowledge of and ability to safely utilize coronary interventional modalities

Responsibilities
