About The Position

This position will support the Cardiac Cath Lab at the Mercyhealth Hospital and Trauma Center. In the Cardiac Cath Lab, the technologist will support cardiac procedures. They will be skilled in preparing equipment, maintaining a sterile field, assisting physicians, and monitoring patients and will work efficiently in fast-paced environments with a strong focus on safety and quality care. The schedule is 40 hours per week with a variable day shift starting at 7:00 AM. This role includes one weeknight call shift and one weekend of on-call per month. The location is Mercyhealth Hospital and Trauma Center in Janesville, WI.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an AMA accredited Radiologic Technology program or equivalent
  • Two years experience as Cardiac Catheterization Tech I or equivalent
  • AART registered or registry eligible
  • Wisconsin State Radiology Technologist License
  • Cardiovascular Technologist registered or registry eligible
  • BLS Certification
  • Must be able to wear 15-pound lead apron.

Nice To Haves

  • ACLS Certification

Responsibilities

  • Performs functions of Cardiac Catheterization Tech I.
  • Assists Cardiologist during diagnostic cardiac catheterization, but has additional knowledge and skills to assist during complex coronary interventional procedures utilizing adjunctive therapies in the treatment of coronary artery disease.
  • Assists in the maintenance of Cath lab inventory.
  • Assists with training and orientation of new staff.
  • Assists with development, review and implementation of policies and procedures.
  • Participates in Quality Assessment and Improvement.
  • May be required to work flexible hours and overtime during peak periods.
  • Participates in the on-call roster.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the Cath Lab Coordinator or Heart Program Director.
