The Cardiac Rehab RN position is a part-time role requiring 26 hours per week, specifically on Mondays (10 hours), Wednesdays (10 hours), and Fridays (6 hours). The primary purpose of this role is to deliver high-quality patient care, adhering to all established standards of care and ensuring a safe environment for individuals with known or potential risks for developing cardiac disease. This role involves routine decision-making regarding patient evaluation, including physical changes, vital signs, weight gain, and exercise tolerance. The RN will also monitor the cardiac monitor for changes and assess the readiness of new participants for the Cardiac Rehab program. While there is no formal supervisory responsibility, the position is formally responsible for providing input into policies related to its purpose and essential responsibilities. The role involves a risk of blood and body fluid contamination and requires age-specific competencies for adult (18-64 years) and geriatric (65+ years) patients.
