About The Position

You are responsible for the appearance, cleanliness, and customer-facing presentation of your assigned car wash sites. Your work ensures a clean site, working vacuums, picked-up trash, and a presentable lot, which communicates to customers that the company cares. The role also involves being observant of equipment, signage, and property for any visual problems such as damage or malfunctions. This position offers a growth path into the Car Wash Technician Apprentice role for those who demonstrate ownership, a positive attitude, and a willingness to learn.

Responsibilities

  • Keep assigned car wash sites clean and presentable at all times, ensuring no customer would have a reason to comment on the site being dirty.
  • Pick up trash across the entire lot, including parking areas, vacuum islands, entrances, and around bays, and empty trash cans before they overflow.
  • Maintain vacuum islands by hanging up hoses, replacing damaged hoses, and keeping them clean and presentable.
  • Pressure wash bays, clean bay walls, clear mud and debris from drains, and keep bay floors clean.
  • Wipe down payment kiosks, change machines, vending equipment, and signage, ensuring they are free of cobwebs, dust, and grime.
  • Remove stickers, graffiti, and vandalism as soon as they are spotted.
  • Keep the parking lot blown off and free of trash and debris.
  • Maintain landscaping by pulling weeds and trimming overgrowth to keep the area looking maintained.
  • Keep the dumpster area contained and clean.
  • Visually inspect equipment, signage, and property for any problems such as damage, leaks, malfunctions, or items out of place during site visits.
  • Document any spotted problems.
  • Visit assigned sites on a regular schedule, with frequency varying based on site needs (daily or weekly).
  • Plan efficient routes for multi-site coverage.
  • Demonstrate extreme ownership, a positive attitude, a servant heart, problem-solving skills, integrity, and a commitment to continuous learning.
  • Accurately clock in and out, take required breaks and meal periods.
  • Be punctual for scheduled work times.
  • Follow all company policies, including the Team Member Handbook and the Valvoline Code of Conduct.
  • Ask technicians questions during downtime and observe their work to learn about equipment.
  • Invest in personal learning through training videos, manuals, and shadow time.
  • Share learning with management.
  • Plan the workday, including which sites to visit, necessary tasks, and estimated time for each.
  • Balance efficiency with maintaining standards, avoiding both rushing and wasting time.
  • Batch supplies and tools to minimize extra trips.
  • Interact professionally, friendly, and helpfully with customers encountered on site.
  • Handle customer complaints or questions with kindness or direct them to the appropriate person.
  • Maintain stocked supplies, including cleaning chemicals, trash bags, and basic tools.
  • Communicate low supply levels to management proactively.
  • Track supply usage and avoid waste while ensuring enough is used to meet standards.
