About The Position

The Car Wash & Detail Porter function is to courteously and efficiently meet and exceed customer expectations by providing excellence in carwash, detail and delivery of new and pre-owned vehicles. He/she is responsible for washing, detailing and getting vehicles ready for delivery to customers by ensuring smooth and efficient traffic flow through the carwash and detail process, maintaining the cleanliness of the interior and exterior of vehicles, and increasing customer satisfaction by providing a professional car wash and detail.

Requirements

High school diploma or the equivalent
One year of experience in an auto repair facility
Must have a valid in-state driver's license and have and maintain an acceptable, safe driving record and safe driving habits to drive both customer vehicles and company vehicles
Must be a team player with impeccable honesty and integrity
Maintain an elevated level of professional personal appearance and conduct
Proficient knowledge of tools and materials needed to perform departmental duties ensuring an elevated level of customer satisfaction

Responsibilities

Verify status of vehicles to be washed and/or detailed. Ensure repair order number has been properly assigned
Maintain new and pre-owned vehicles’ appearance by cleaning the interior and exterior of vehicles as needed or as requested to the Company’s standards
Wash and detail vehicles to the Company’s standards assigned.
Ensure all unattended vehicles in the lot and parking areas are locked.
Keep new and pre-owned lots neat and organized.
Move customer and dealership vehicles as directed.
Make and implement decisions regarding maintaining and cleaning vehicles
Inspect vehicles for stains, debris and damage before returning the vehicle to customer, and report any damage immediately to management
Wash overflow of vehicles, as necessary, to avoid bottlenecks
Return all vehicle keys to lock box
Remove any protective coverings and ID tags installed in the vehicle, prior to returning the completed vehicle to the customer
Understand and comply with federal, state and local regulations, such as safety requirements, hazardous waste disposal, OSHA, Right-to-Know, etc.
Clean dealership areas (e.g., walkways and sidewalks) as needed
Utilize all available information to ensure proper resolution of problems
Utilizing Fundamentals Skills by providing prompt, efficient and quality service to the customers and dealership
Take the initiative to exceed customer satisfaction, even if it requires overcoming obstacles
All other duties as assigned.
