About The Position

Murdock Auto is seeking a part-time Car Wash Attendant for the Lindon Car Wash, working 25–35 hours per week on the closing shift. Murdock has been privately family owned for over 100 years. The attendant is the first point of contact for customers and helps ensure a positive, efficient experience by explaining services, handling transactions, maintaining the facility, and promoting memberships and additional offerings. The role also includes cleaning and safety tasks in a fast-paced, customer-facing environment.

Requirements

Excellent customer service skills and a friendly, professional demeanor.
Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with customers and team members.
Ability to read, count, and write accurately.
Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work various hours, including weekends and holidays.
Ability to perform repetitive tasks and remain on one's feet for extended periods.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally and perform physical tasks such as bending, reaching, and stooping.

Responsibilities

Greet customers in a friendly and professional manner.
Explain the services offered and help customers choose appropriate services.
Answer customer inquiries, resolve price discrepancies, and direct customers to other departments when necessary.
Handle cash transactions accurately and balance the register at the beginning and end of each shift.
Promote memberships, additional services, and vending items.
Stock and maintain merchandise in the vending cart.
Explain car wash entry procedures and ensure safe, proper vehicle loading.
Provide high-quality cleaning services and address customer concerns or special requests.
Follow safety protocols when handling chemicals, equipment, and vehicles.
Store and dispose of cleaning agents, chemicals, and waste materials properly.
Keep the work area clean and organized, and maintain a safe, inviting car wash environment.
Perform housekeeping and maintenance, including cleaning driveways, restrooms, and car wash areas.
Perform other duties as assigned to support the team and customer experience.
