About The Position

The iOS Car Experience team at Apple is responsible for developing smarter, safer ways for customers to use iPhone in the car. This includes crafting solutions like CarPlay and Do Not Disturb While Driving, and collaborating with internal teams to deliver experiences such as digital car key. The team works closely with automakers globally to integrate features into vehicles, aiming to provide drivers with loved and frequently used functionalities. The role involves designing and developing future in-vehicle Apple experiences, implementing operating system features for in-car functionalities like CarPlay, and contributing to both system apps and supporting frameworks. The position requires close collaboration with the design team to shape user experiences, deep dives into the codebase for optimization of application and framework size and performance, and bug fixing to maintain high quality. The role offers the opportunity to interact with industry experts and address challenging problems.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or equivalent job-related experience.
  • 3 years of object-oriented programming experience in Objective-C or Swift.
  • UI programming experience in UIKit or SwiftUI.
  • Creativity and passion for design.
  • Comfortable with a large code base, dynamic working environments, and tight schedules.
  • Strong debugging and analytical skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience developing multi-threaded and/or multi-process systems using IPC is beneficial.
  • Experience developing software with any of the following frameworks is a plus: CarPlay, CoreLocation, CoreMedia, MediaPlayer.

Responsibilities
