Car Electronics Installer
About The Position
As a Car Electronics Installer, also known internally as an Autotech Agent, you’ll install new technology in customers’ vehicles in the installation bay of a local Best Buy store. You’ll share advice, best practices, and product recommendations with customers and other employees. Best Buy provides training and certifications to help you perform at an expert level. The role offers opportunities to advance to Autotech Agent Level 2. The position involves installing car electronics, using provided guides to identify compatible products and complete projects, verifying vehicle make and model, and communicating compatibility concerns before installation. You’ll provide a high level of customer service and complete required training and certifications.
Requirements
- Current, valid driver’s license.
- Have and maintain a driving record that meets Best Buy’s safety standards, such as a minimal number of violations or accidents.
Nice To Haves
- Prior experience installing car electronics.
- Prior retail experience.
Responsibilities
- Install car electronics, including T-harness remote starts, stereos, speakers, dash cameras, backup cameras, amplifiers, and in-dash units.
- Use provided guides to identify compatible mobile electronic products and complete installation projects.
- Verify vehicle make and model and communicate compatibility concerns before installation.
- Provide a high level of customer service.
- Complete required trainings and certifications.
- Share advice, best practices, and product recommendations with customers and other employees.
