About The Position

Davey Resource Group, Inc. is a wholly owned subsidiary of the employee owned Davey Tree Expert Company. We provide a wide range of natural resource, utility, GIS and remote sensing consulting services. Our job is to help our clients provide a safe and reliable power source through proper vegetation management practices. Do you want a career working outdoors? Requirements

  • Clean DMV driving record and ability to drive and operate a 4x4 vehicle
  • Computer skills
  • Has ability to work and hike in rugged terrain and inclement weather
  • 1 year of utility vegetation management experience or similar experience in a related field (tree work industry, landscape professional) or Two or four year degree in horticulture, forestry, urban forestry, environmental science or a related discipline
  • ISA certification, or the ability to obtain

Responsibilities

  • Work with our utility clients to address its right-of-way needs
  • Patrol, identify, and prescribe required tree trimming and tree/brush removal work needed to build or re-construct electrical facilities
  • Maintain positive customer relations while communicating tree work requirements to utility customers and to public agencies
  • Attend Community open houses for large scale capital rebuild projects as a client representative
  • Maintain direct contact and a positive working relationships with utility Foresters, general construction crews, and other utility personnel
  • Coordinate tree work within construction scheduled timelines
  • Provide a cost estimate to local land and resource planners, project managers, and construction crew for purchase order preparation
  • Work with estimators, job owners, project managers, and construction teams to help coordinate any permitting required
  • Assess all terrain, habitat, and environmental conditions
  • 50-75% Travel required with overnight stays throughout Western Arkansas, NW Louisiana, and Northeast TX
