This role is for a Capital Project Manager – Infrastructure, specifically a Project Manager II within the Utility & Infrastructure team, located in Indianapolis, IN. The Capital Project Manager will independently manage large-scale transmission, distribution, and infrastructure projects, overseeing results from planning through construction. This position is central to the PMO and crucial for delivering projects that enhance capacity, reliability, and long-term system needs.

Requirements

  • 3–7 years of experience managing capital construction projects.
  • Utility, infrastructure, or data center experience preferred.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Experience with SAP and Oracle P6 strongly desired.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree preferred.
  • PMP preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Manage multi‑million‑dollar capital projects ($5M–$50M+) with full accountability for scope, schedule, budget, and risk.
  • Develop and maintain integrated project plans, schedules, cash flows, and risk registers.
  • Coordinate internal and external stakeholders to ensure construction milestones and outages are executed safely and on time.
  • Lead procurement planning, scope development, bid evaluations, and contract administration.
  • Track and forecast project costs; provide detailed monthly reporting for PMO and leadership.
  • Identify risks early and drive mitigation strategies.
  • Support mentoring and development of junior PMs.
  • Participate in PMO process improvement and lessons‑learned initiatives.
