About The Position

As a Capital Project Engineer, you will take technical ownership of capital projects that directly support safe, reliable chemical manufacturing operations, leading execution from concept through commissioning and handover. You will collaborate across engineering, operations, maintenance, and external partners, working hands‑on in a dynamic plant environment to embed process safety, quality, and operational excellence into every phase of project delivery. This role delivers meaningful impact by advancing sustainable engineering solutions that support mobility, improve wellbeing, and enhance modern life.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Civil, Electrical Engineering, or related discipline.
  • 5+ years of experience in project engineering or related project design and delivery roles, including active involvement from construction through commissioning.
  • Experience applying industry-specific standards, codes, and regulations within a manufacturing environment.
  • Proven experience leading engineering design and execution within cross-functional project teams, from concept through commissioning and handover.
  • Experience with CAD and design tools (AutoDesk applications).
  • Working knowledge of SAP, Microsoft Office, and documentation management systems.

Nice To Haves

  • Professional Engineer (P.E.) license or equivalent professional engineering certification.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and execution of capital project plans, including scope, schedule, budget, and deliverables, in collaboration with site and project leadership.
  • Coordinate and manage engineering work packages from design through construction, commissioning, and handover, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Ensure Process Safety and Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) requirements are embedded in engineering designs and construction execution in compliance with internal and industry standards.
  • Review and approve engineering designs, drawings, and specifications to ensure compliance with site standards, regulatory requirements, and quality expectations.
  • Coordinate with internal teams, contractors, and external vendors to ensure effective resource planning and execution across project phases.
  • Identify, assess, and manage project risks throughout the project lifecycle, developing and implementing effective mitigation strategies.
  • Serve as a technical authority, leading resolution of engineering issues and technical risks.
  • Prepare and maintain project documentation, progress reports, and commissioning records, and support project closeout and handover to Operations and Maintenance.
