About The Position

The Capital Markets Middle Office Specialist is responsible for taking ownership of all tasks and challenges encountered in the operation of their assigned position. This role involves processing ARC transactions with a high degree of accuracy in various operational systems, working in a fast-paced environment, balancing multiple requests simultaneously, and independently leveraging technology and resources to achieve routine efficiencies. The specialist will provide extraordinary customer service in a professional team environment.

Requirements

  • Ability to manage multiple requests simultaneously and work with other team members to ensure that daily responsibilities are handled timely
  • Proficient with general office machines and programs to include Microsoft Office Word, Excel, Outlook, and other software that might be utilized in the department
  • Ability to use the computer efficiently and the capacity to learn new software programs as they are rolled out by the Bank
  • Must have good knowledge of business English, including spelling and punctuation when writing
  • Must possess basic English language skills to speak clearly and effectively with coworkers and customers
  • Must be well-organized, accurate, and attentive to detail
  • Must be cooperative and willing to assist coworkers and customers on a regular basis
  • Must have effective listening skills demonstrated by the ability to listen to others talk (without interruption), understand them, and then propose solutions or make contributions based on the points made by others
  • Must possess excellent multi-tasking skills and be able to function well under pressure
  • Must be able to remain composed under pressure and respond to customer and coworker concerns regularly
  • Must have a keen eye for detail and follow instructions to the letter
  • Must be patient and willing to help others in solving problems while always maintaining a positive attitude
  • Minimum High School diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • One to three years related experience and/or training

Responsibilities

  • Provides extraordinary customer service to customers, colleagues and associates (both internal and external) enthusiastically, professionally and with confidence through various means of communication.
  • Responsible for the accurate processing of ARC transactions through various systems (Horizon, TPG, etc) which includes the entry of detailed information for establishing new accounts, new loan set up, trade tickets, settlements, payments of principal / interest, etc.
  • Leverage technology and resources appropriately to perform various functions efficiently including communications, recordkeeping, reporting, etc.
  • Researches and resolves issues independently.
  • Provides knowledge sharing with team members to strengthen understanding of processes, controls and regulatory requirements.
  • Participates in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals.
  • Remain knowledgeable of changes affecting ARC processes that may create operational or service opportunities.
  • Strive to achieve an understanding of securities and processing as well as a general understanding of other Division services
  • Maintain good relationship with internal and external customers, management team, and other contacts.
