About The Position

Responsible for loan administration, content management, and credit support. Administers moderately complex commercial, syndicated, and/or participated loan portfolio requiring strong critical thinking skills. Effectively and efficiently responds to customer service inquiries on a routine basis. Supports business development efforts by providing thorough and knowledgeable customer service via face-to-face interactions, email, and/or telephone conversations. Facilitates communication with external parties and internal departments involved in the customer and loan relationship. With assistance, seeks solutions and answers in situations where procedures are not specific, and will consistently develop appropriate strategies for problem resolution. This position handles non-routine, non-repetitive transactions and customer requests that are moderately to very complex. The incumbent will demonstrate foundational knowledge of the core skills and functions in loan administration, loan accounting, and customer service; and will navigate supporting information systems with limited oversight. Will be knowledgeable of syndication and participation loan structures and processes and be able to discuss those in limited detail.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, accounting or legal studies.
  • Three (3) to five (5) years of experience in loan administration with an emphasis on commercial lending, specifically syndicated and participated lending, or experience deemed equivalent at the discretion of Capital Farm Credit.
  • Accounting/financial systems.
  • Computer systems and office equipment used for file management, file classification practices, and retrieval of business information.
  • Documentation requirements for title insurance, deeds of trust, UCC financing statements, crop insurance, and flood insurance.
  • Complex commercial lending structures and corresponding legal documentation, including various forms of seasonally increasing/reducing revolving lines of credit, construction lending, letters of credit.
  • Syndication/participation lending standard practices.
  • Professional oral and written correspondence principles.
  • Intermediate skill level in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Organization and time management practices.

Responsibilities

  • Provides excellent customer service on a consistent basis by answering internal/external customer inquiries and facilitating communications between internal departments and external parties.
  • Researches and resolves issues with limited assistance.
  • Ensures necessary credit approval, loan documentation and supporting items for large, complex commercial, syndicated and participated loan transactions is complete in order to facilitate accurate and efficient processing.
  • Works with deal team members to resolve workflow issues and to obtain or provide additional needed information and items.
  • Reviews and processes credit underwriting documentation/term sheets/financing proposals and relevant supporting documents for accuracy and completeness.
  • Coordinates with deal team members to resolve issues or for additional needs.
  • Processes loan documentation, collateral due diligence and documentation, participation documentation and other supporting documentation from lead lenders as relevant to each loan.
  • Coordinates pre-closing review and approval of necessary documents with limited assistance.
  • Reviews executed documentation to ensure accuracy, completeness, and proper execution.
  • Confirms that all loan closing conditions have been met.
  • Reviews and facilitates processing of credit servicing actions, including review of credit approvals and supporting documentation for accuracy and completeness.
  • Identifies issues and communicates with deal team members for additional needs.
  • Assembles and delivers closing and servicing packets to internal departments for processing.
  • Establishes and maintains files for loan documents, borrower financial reporting and participating association agreements.
  • Archives documents with guidance and oversight.
  • At the instruction of the Capital Markets team, creates and establishes access for other users to a third-party, secured documentation sharing site in cases where the loan will be further participated to other lenders.
  • Uploads and shares documents via the document sharing site in a timely manner to ensure members/participants are informed and prepared for loan closing and servicing other actions to fulfill CFC’s fiduciary responsibilities.
  • Reviews loan data on system generated reports in accordance with established policies and procedures.
  • Identifies data inconsistencies and exceptions and takes action to resolve or escalate issues to management with limited oversight.
  • Performs other loan administrative tasks and responsibilities as assigned.
  • Maintains knowledge of Farm Credit lending guidelines and regulations, loan syndication/participation industry standards and best practices, and CFC procedures, policies, processes, and internal controls with an ability to research and apply them with some guidance and oversight.
  • Maintains knowledge of and ability to use multiple CFC lending systems and other software applications.
  • Researches and resolves issues with limited assistance or escalates appropriately.
