About The Position

Zions Bancorporation is seeking a Capital Markets Business Analyst for its Business Enablement Operations team in Charlotte, NC. This role will support strategic initiatives, process enhancements, and business objectives within Zions Capital Markets, which provides financing and advisory solutions to companies. The Capital Markets platform aims to offer "bulge bracket" solutions and is expanding its product capabilities. The Business Analyst will work with various teams including Trading, Sales, Technology, Operations, Compliance, Legal, Risk Management, Treasury, and Finance.

Requirements

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong presentation, relationship building, collaboration attention to detail and decision-making skills
  • Understanding of the details and mechanics of OTC products (including futures, Options, and swaps) and an inquisitive mind
  • Understanding of banking, markets, industry practices, and market trends
  • 5 or more years of related experience
  • Self-motivated, highly organized, and able to work independently without direct supervision
  • Undergraduate degree in finance or equivalent work experience

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Calypso, MarkitWire, Tri_Optima and Bloomberg is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Partner with Derivative Trading, Sales, Technology, Operations, Compliance, Legal, Market Risk Management, Treasury, and Finance teams to support strategic initiatives, process enhancements, and business objectives
  • Demonstrate strong knowledge of interest rate and derivative products, including swaps, caps, floors, collars, and futures, with the ability to analyze pricing inputs, rate resets, and cash settlement calculations
  • Perform and oversee daily OTC derivatives activities, including client onboarding, trade verification, settlements, confirmations, lifecycle event processing, and counterparty coordination
  • Serve as a subject matter expert for operational processes, providing guidance to junior team members and assisting with issue resolution
  • Analyze, define, document, and enhance business processes and procedures to improve operational efficiency and control effectiveness
  • Review, validate, and maintain client and counterparty data, ensuring data integrity across systems
  • Review and approve settlement activity, investigate exceptions, and drive timely resolution of complex settlement and reconciliation issues
  • Lead investigations into trade, cash, and reconciliation discrepancies, providing root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders, counterparties, and external service providers
  • Participate in operational and regulatory projects, system implementations, testing efforts, and process improvement initiatives
  • Respond to ad hoc inquiries, support audits and examinations, and perform other duties as assigned
