About The Position

Be a Star at the Straz Center for the Performing Arts! Straz Center for the Performing Arts is seeking a Capital Campaign Coordinator to join our Development Team. This position provides administrative support and organizational coordination to the CDO and gift officers to meet the fundraising goals and mission of the Boundless campaign. In this role, the Campaign Coordinator provides daily management of the campaign, ensuring campaign fundraising strategies are developed and adhered to. The position may involve contact with internal and external stakeholders, including donors, board members, staff, and volunteers and requires the ability to anticipate needs, think critically and provide excellent service with a high level of professionalism and discernment. Located in downtown Tampa, the 335,000 square-foot Straz Center, one of the largest performing arts complexes in the country, offers a team-based work environment that shows our dedication to the community every day.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 and experience with Tessitura or Salesforce; willing and able to learn Straz Center's CRM database system.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal; ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of donor, prospect, gift, and campaign-related information in accordance with Straz Center policies and applicable donor privacy standards.
  • Must be available to work occasional evenings and weekends to support campaign meetings and event.
  • Must be able to pass a Level 2 background check.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • Three to five years of fundraising, campaign, project management, or nonprofit development experience.
  • Prior experience working in a supporting role that required a high degree of professionalism; independence and working with a database.

  • Development experience or work with a non-profit organization, and experience supporting a major-gift or capital campaign preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Manage, implement and maintain all aspects of the written campaign plan, timetable, and achievement of clearly defined campaign goals.
  • Coordination and facilitation of meetings, training, cultivation activities, solicitations, and special events involving key major donor prospects and stakeholders, including public-phase events.
  • Assist Development staff in leading regional volunteer recruitment efforts. Help guide and orient volunteers in the most effective donor cultivation and solicitation methods.
  • Staff all campaign committees, organizing meetings and working with volunteers one-on-one to ensure they are prepared and supported in their assignments.
  • Help establish solicitation priorities, managing prospect lists and a moves management system for cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding donors.
  • Help shape and implement donor strategies, prepare staff and volunteers for donor meetings, and create donor briefing memos for all lead gift solicitations. Work closely with staff colleagues in scheduling and coordinating cultivation and solicitation opportunities for staff and volunteers.
  • Provide regular reports for staff and board leadership on the progress of the campaign, identifying challenges and opportunities as they arise.
  • Coordinate naming opportunities, recognition commitments, stewardship deliverables, and donor benefits fulfillment with the appropriate Development team members and ensure donor recognition and stewardship plans/policy are upheld for campaign donors.
  • Work with the Development Systems team to ensure that all gifts, acknowledgements, and receipts for campaign donors are recorded and acknowledged within 48 hours of receipt.
  • Work with Development staff, professional counsel, CDO, and CMO to plan and implement the campaign PR, advocacy and marketing program. This includes the Case for Support and supportive collateral pieces, newsletters, and other materials for various campaign constituencies.
  • Assist staff in writing and packaging proposals for gifts from major campaign constituents, and coordinate campaign and annual-giving strategies, so Boundless commitments are positioned over and above donors' ongoing annual support.
  • Function as the onsite logistics coordinator for campaign awareness events.
  • Manage campaign budget, including tracking expenses, preparing forecasts, monitoring budget-to-actual performance, flagging variances and reporting regularly to campaign leadership.
  • Assist with other campaign duties as needed.
