About The Position

The Capital Buyer is responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing capital equipment, construction services, engineering services, and project-related materials that support strategic capital investments across the organization. This role works closely with Engineering, Operations, Maintenance, Project Managers, and Finance to ensure capital projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in compliance with company procurement policies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Package Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, Finance, or a related field.
  • Strong negotiation, contract management, and supplier relationship management skills.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and project management skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead sourcing and procurement activities for capital equipment, construction services, engineering services, and project materials.
  • Develop and execute procurement strategies that support capital project objectives, schedules, and budgets.
  • Prepare and manage RFQs, RFPs, and bid packages for capital projects.
  • Evaluate supplier proposals, conduct commercial analyses, and make sourcing recommendations.
  • Negotiate pricing, delivery schedules, payment terms, warranties, service agreements, and contracts.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Operations, Maintenance, Finance, and Project Management teams throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Create and manage purchase orders and procurement documentation in ERP systems.
  • Monitor supplier performance, expediting critical deliveries to ensure project milestones are achieved.
  • Identify opportunities for cost savings, value engineering, supplier consolidation, and process improvements.
  • Support capital budgeting and forecasting activities through accurate cost estimates and market intelligence.
  • Ensure compliance with company procurement policies, safety standards, regulatory requirements, and ethical sourcing practices.
  • Develop and maintain strong supplier relationships to support long-term business objectives.
  • Analyze market trends, commodity fluctuations, and supplier capabilities to mitigate supply chain risks.
