About The Position

The Capacity Planning role is responsible for building a resilient supply chain for the Automotive Division through long-term and short-term capacity planning and mapping. This includes capacity assessment, planning for existing supply chain parts based on 3-year plans, and action planning for capacity shortfall mitigation for the BIW (Body in White) Domain, specifically for Weld Lines and Press Capacity. The role involves enabling the creation of required infrastructure at supplier end through partnership with SSU (Supplier Support Unit), CDMM (Commodity Development & Material Management), PD (Product Development), and SCM (Supply Chain Management). It also requires ensuring the kick-off of part development with close monitoring until SOP (Start of Production). The position will drive short-term capacity planning and supply chain challenge mitigation, including identification of short-term challenges, capacity enhancement on current parts, and addressing quality-related supply issues. Close monitoring of high-risk projects requiring sharp ramp-up to meet business demands is crucial. De-risking the supply chain involves identifying risks, working with SSU to find alternate sources, creating Capex budgets, and enabling VOBs (Vendor Operational Budgets) and capacity creation for BIW Parts. Digitization efforts will focus on driving simplicity and efficiency through Digital Capacity Planning and monitoring, including the implementation of a Capacity Planning tool for BIW Parts.

Requirements

B. Tech / BE degree
6 to 10 years of General Experience

Identify and eliminate the capacity constraints as per volume demand using method study tools (Man-Machine charts, deciding the online – offline strategy, low cost automation etc.).
