About The Position

The SkyWater Texas Capacity Planning Engineer will leverage advanced capacity modeling approaches, data analytics, statistical methods, and factory planning concepts to drive strategic decision making, improve fab efficiency, and enhance customer satisfaction. The Capacity Planning Engineer will lead initiatives in capacity planning, data automation, manufacturing execution, and long‑range factory strategy while mentoring entry-level engineers and influencing cross‑functional teams.

Requirements

  • BS in Industrial Engineering or related degree
  • 2+ years experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Demonstrated expertise with capacity modeling techniques, statistical methods, and planning tools used in Manufacturing Science and Production Control
  • Proven ability to lead complex projects, influence cross-functional teams, and deliver measurable factory improvements
  • Strong proficiency with Data Mining & Analytics using ETL tools such as SQL, APF, Google Big Query, Oracle, etc.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate technical findings into actionable recommendations for leadership

Nice To Haves

  • Semiconductor manufacturing experience
  • Experience developing and maintaining Tableau dashboards or similar visualization tools
  • Working knowledge of APF Real Time Dispatching (RTD)

Responsibilities

  • Own capacity modeling for all production toolsets, providing technical direction and long‑term improvement roadmaps
  • Lead the development and deployment of advanced analytics, statistical models, and decision‑support tools to improve factory performance
  • Drive cross‑functional initiatives to improve Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), Cycle Time, throughput, and bottleneck tool performance
  • Partner with Operations leadership to define factory metrics and prioritize high-impact improvements
  • Present data-driven insights and recommendations to factory leadership to influence strategic planning and policy decisions
  • Engage with on-floor personnel to identify and eliminate tactical factory constraints
  • Mentor and coach entry-level team members, providing technical leadership on high‑impact projects
  • Develop and improve business processes that support the Industrial Engineering and Planning teams
