Capacity Engineer

Cloudflare•San Francisco, CA

About The Position

The Demand Planning team works across traffic forecasting, infrastructure strategy, and operational execution. It predicts when, where, and how many servers to deploy across Cloudflare’s global edge so customer traffic stays in-region. This is a planning and engineering role focused on building models, owning data, and translating forecasts into deployment decisions. The Capacity Engineer owns one or more planning regions end-to-end with light supervision. The role includes maintaining planning models, identifying issues before they become incidents, working with hardware sourcing and infrastructure teams, and contributing to the data pipelines that support planning. The engineer serves as the point of contact for their region and contributes to consistency across regions while developing toward full autonomy. AI tooling, including OpenCode AI and MAS agent workflows, is a normal part of the team’s planning work. The role is based in Austin, Texas. Applicants who progress to the offer stage may be asked to attend an in-person interview at a Cloudflare office or hub. The position may require access to information protected by U.S. export control laws; an offer may be conditioned on authorization to receive controlled software or technology without sponsorship for an export license.
